Take5

The Take5 is a turning-milling centre which meets the highest requirements for precision. Due to its design and the innovative and compact arrangement of the machining units it is also very flexible at use. This turning-milling centre is therefore ideally suited for the machining of complex components with high demands on precision.

Various turning spindles with spindle capacities from 32 to 42 mm, with concentricity and axial run-out up to < 0,7 µm and spindle speeds up to 8.000 rpm are available in combination with a wide range of clamping systems for strong and but also for sensitive clamping of the workpieces.
Y-axes increase the field of applications of this machine and additionally reduce set-up times because the tools can be fine adjusted to their centre height using the machine's NC-axes.

The Take5 can be automated by Benzinger's own loading and unloading devices with shortest workpiece changing times or by separate robot cells. The use of a bar feeding system enables complete machining from the bar.

Modern control systems from Siemens and Fanuc with various programming options complete the overall package.

Working space

A HSK40 milling spindle with speed up to 30.000 rpm in combination with its tool changer with 52 positions is used on the main spindle as well as on the counter spindle. Simultaneously to machining with the milling spindle, the turret can be used on the other turning spindle. The tool turret with shaft size VDI-25 has 16 individually driven tool positions and can optionally be equipped with an additional Y-axis.

A high precision turret interface for the VDI-25 tool holders is available for optimising set-up times. The repeatability inserting the tool holder is significantly less than 0,01 mm. Tools can be measured externally in the tool holder and time-consuming readjusting in the machine is no longer necessary.
